During May to July 2005, we studied the breeding ecology of the Elliot＇s Laughing thrush （Garrulax elliotii） at Kache Forestry Farm in Zhuoni, Gansu. The birds nested in the small spruce trees with the height of 1.56 ±0.38 m（n = 10）. The clutch size is 3.4 ±0.5 （n = 10）, with the egg weight of 5.8 ± 0.2 g（n = 17）. The length of incubation and nestling period are 14 and 15 days, respectively. The incubation success rate was 67.6% （ n = 34 ） and all 23 nestlings were successfully fledged.
