Three models of French government R＆D funding mechanisms to basic research bases, national research institutes in specific fields and enterprises, are analyzed respectively. The overall features of R＆D funding mechanism of French government are promoted based on the above three models. And French experiences in government R＆D funding mechanism are valuable to China, as the inspiration are showed in the final part of this article.
