Social capital is of some features of the social structure which is helpful to the effective cooperation among the people to achieve their common goal.Its connotation is closely related to social trust,code of conduct and social networks.We should base ourselves on the analysis of the connotation of social capital,combine it with the traditional theory of economic growth,and explore the influential mechanism of social capital upon economic growth.Social capital can boost economic growth by lowering transaction costs,increasing human capital accumulation and making technological progress.The higher level of social capital can provide a favorable social environment for economic development and constitute an important guarantee for economic development.
