The reaction of double equivalent pyrimidine-4,6-diol with aldehydes afforded 6-hydroxy-5-[（4-hydroxy-6-oxo-1,6-dihydropyrimidin-5-y1）arymethy1]pyrimidin-4（3H）-one derivatives under microwave irradiation using methylamine as a catalyst and acetic acid as a solvent.
