In order to plan thunderstorms flight restricted area scientifically and rationally, and support the rerouting policy, three methods were used to plan flight restricted area, such as the minimum bounding rectangle, minimum area ellipse, minimum circumcircle. And then accuracy, deviation, redundancy and complexity were used to evaluate the planning methods. The example shows, according to different thunderstorms shape, an appro- priate planning method should be selected.
