A reconfigurable ultra-wideband (UWB) pulse generation is proposed and experimentally demon- strated based on Mach-Zehnder interferometer (MZI). By utilizing different encodings, a pair of polarity-re- versed monocycle pulses and a pair of polarity-reversed quasi-doublet pulses are obtained, respectively. Fur- thermore, different pulse modulation schemes such as monocycle-OOK and quasi-doublet-BPM are success- fully achieved without increasing the complexity of proposed structure.
