根据磁光非线性光纤中导波光脉冲的四波混频(FWM )耦合模方程,数值计算了施加不同磁场时相同偏振和 接近正交偏振线偏光入射两种情况下的FWM功率传递函数(PTF),并实验测试了相 应的再生光功率最 大和最小两种起始状态下光纤磁光效应对FWM PTF的影响,实验结果与理论曲线基本 吻合。研究表明, 对光纤施加适当的磁场,有助于提升再生器的消光比性能;在接近正交偏振线偏光入射时, 再生闲频光功率随磁场的变化最为敏感。
Based on four-wave mixing (FWM) coupled-mode equations for guided op tical pulses in magneto-optical nonlinear fiber,the numerical computation of the FWM power tra nsfer function (PTF) under various magnetic fields is done for the parallel and orthogonal states of polarization (SOP) of the input light.Also we experimentally measure the influence of the magneto-optica l effect on the FWM power transfer function (PTF) for the corresponding two initial situations of ma ximal and minimal idler power.The experimental data is basically in agreement with the theoretical resu lts.Our researches show that under appropriate applied magnetic field,the extinction ratio performan ce of the fiber-based regenerators can be improved,and the magnetic field dependency of the output id ler power is the most sensitive for the case with orthogonal SOP.
