指示照应是衔接的主要方式之一,在语篇中发挥着重要作用。通过对四部儿童文学作品的定量分析发现,汉语中的"这/那"的使用频率远高于英语中的this/that;that和"这"的使用频率则分别高于this和"那";汉语中近指"这"和远指"那"的使用频率差异在逐步缩小。由于英、汉语拥有不同的指示照应系统,承载着不同的社会文化,在对待集体/个人主义和高/低语境两方面采取截然不同的方式造成了这一差异。
Demonstrative reference is one of the important cohesive devices which contribute a lot to text creation and interpretation.Based on a data analysis of four children's literature novels,it finds that the use frequencies of the English-Chinese demonstratives are different.These phenomena might result partly from their different attitudes towards collectivism-individualism and high-low context.
