In recent years, organic heteropolyacid （ HPA ） salt catalysts have drawn great attention due to their unique phase-transfer properties in catalysis. In this review the mechanisms of phase transfer catalysis by organic HPA salts were addressed. Afterwards the progress in organic HPA salts as phase-transfer catalysts was overviewed. Finally, the development of organic HPA salt catalysts was anticipated.
