Much attention has been paid to heat treatment on magnesium alloys. The current essential techniques （including annealing, solution, aging, thermo-mechanical treatment, hydrogenating treatment, surface heat treatment and so on） and features of heat treatment applied to magnesium alloys are summarized. Especially the effects for magnesium alloys on microstructure,mechanical properties and corrosion resistance are introduced. In the end, the development direction on heat treatment of magnesium alloys are prospected.
