The importance of the surface suspended sediment distribution and diffusion is briefly introduced in this review. The researches on the surface suspended sediment based on quantitative remote sensing inversion at home and abroad are summarized. On this basis,the development trends of the surface suspended sediment based on remote sensing inversion are put forward,which will provide reference for further researches.
