Aiming at the limitations of display range of current electronic maps and visual focusing ability of humans, an adaptive multi-level spatial pattern of the island group was proposed. The pattern was extracted by using dynamic proximity graph, minimum spanning tree and minimum area boxing rectan gle. Experimental results showed that the proposed method could effectively take into account the spatial scale of the island group, and adaptively generate the multi-level spatial pattern of the island group, which could improve the flexibility and effectiveness of spatial pattern recognition.
