The preparation process, classification and physical mechanical properties of high performance graphite electrode material were stated in detail and the characteristics of par- ticularity and high speed machining were summarized. The optimal selection of graphite was studied based on analysis of typical applications of high performance graphite in the die ＆ mould manufacturing in automobile, household appliance and communication indus- tries.
