Different from an independent atom,long-range dipole-dipole interactions between Rydberg atoms can arise quantum entanglement. A study on steady-state Rydberg excitation and quantum entanglement under the dipole blockade and anti-blockade regimes finds out that quantum entanglement has a close relation with Rydberg excitation. Furthermore,quantum entanglement can be coherently controlled by adjusting the system parameters.
