Two novel compounds,3,5-di (bromopyrimidine-2-yl)-1-methoxybenzene and 3,5-di (5-bromopyrimidine-2-yl)-l-dodeyloxybenzene (6),were prepared by Pd (0)-catalyzed Suzuki-Miyaura coupling reaction of 5-bromo-2-iodopyrimidine with 3,5-di (4,4,5,5-tetramethyl-1,3,2-dioxaborolane-2-yl)-1-methoxybenzene and 3,5-di (4,4,5,5-tetramethyl-1,3,2-dioxaborolane-2-yl)-1-dodecyloxybenzene,respectively.A novel dimer was synthesized by polymerization of 6 using Ni (cod) 2 as the catalyst.The structures were characterized by 1H NMR,13 C NMR and EI-MS.
