2,3-Dichloro-5,6-dicyano-1,4-benzoquinone（DDQ） is a kind of common oxidative reagents.Recently it has news developments in the applications to many organic reactions.In this paper,the progress of applications of DDQ to oxy-dehydrogenation,oxidation of benzyl and allyl,oxidative coupling and cyclization and the formation and cleavage of common protecting groups were reviewed.
