A series of perovskite-like complex oxides La2-xSrxNiO4+δ (0≤ x ≤ 1 ), which were used in the oxygen electrode as electrocatalyst, were prepared by means of sol-gel method. In alkaline solution, the electrocatalytic performance of prepared electrodes was evaluated by means of polarization curve, cyclic vohammetry, and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) technologies using Hg/HgO as a reference electrode. Experimental results indicate that the perovskite-like materials La2-xSrxNiO4+δ (0 ≤ x ≤ 1 ) have excellent activity as electrocatalyst. Furthermore, the activities are different with the changing of Sr contents in the materials. The EIS technology revealed the electron process to be a mixed control of electrochemistry reaction and diffusion process. The equivalent circuit of the air electrode was proposed and the simulated kinetics data were analyzed
