As a hot research field in electronic commerce, combinatorial trading is investtigated. Applying multi-agent coalition formation theory for it, a new mathematical analysis methodology of customer coalition formation is presented. An intermediary multi-agent system holding combinatorial market model is gived. Then, at the macroscopic level of the marketplace, a combinatorial marketplace is described as a stochastic swarm system and study the dynamics of customer coalition formation. Based on the Rate Equation in swarm intelligence, a set of differential equations are derived, which give a quantitative characteristic for coalition formation process of large - scale customers in a combinatorial market. With these differential equations, system property and effects of different roles in combinatorial trading are simulated. And a quantitative analysis method for multilateral games in a combinatorial marketplace is proposed.
