In order to solve the problems existing in the traditional video monitoring system,an embedded remote video monitoring system based on Linux was presented. The system used embedded Linux and controller S3C2440 as the core platform,and the establishment of Web Boa server and video server was set up through the embedded platform,and TCP/IP socket programming was used to realize network communication based on USB camera,image data was compressed and was transmitted through the network transmission to the video server client. The client can receive continuous frame images and complete the display,the user can through the browser,mobile phone terminal to realize remote monitoring. The test results show that the network video monitoring system is stable,reliable,accurate and can realize real-time image.
