ROI编码可以与图像压缩算法结合,解决通讯过程中的带宽瓶颈、存储空间有限等问题,并且可以在低比特率条件下,满足人们对重要图像信息实现高质量恢复的要求。提出了一种基于SPIHT的ROI图像编码的新算法,该算法在无需对感兴趣区域形状信息进行编码的情况下,实现了对感兴趣区域与背景区域重构图像质量的灵活调整。实验结果表明,与现有的ROI编码算法相比,在相同比特率编码条件下,本算法主观和客观质量上都有较好的表现,而且编码时间有所降低。
ROI coding can not only provide a good solution to bandwidth bottleneck and storage space limitation in communication,but also meet high-quality reconstruction for Region of Interest at low-bit-rate coding,with the combination of image compression algorithm.A new algorithm based on SPIHT is proposed for ROI coding,which can adjust the quality between region of interest and background,without coding for ROI shape.Compared with other ROI coding algorithms,the proposed algorithm has better performance in both subjective quality and objective quality at the same bit coding,and its coding time decreases too.
