Entering the new century,the value of streets has been re-recognized by the international community,and Broadway Street in New York City has undergone its largest transformation since the 20 th century.It reclaimed the space occupied by vehicles to pedestrians and bicycles,and formed a continuous and vibrant public space.The entire project took a gradual approach.It obtained a successful effect in creating public space,enhancing safety and improving traffic,etc.Because of the social security issue following its success,it is now facing a new challenge of the development of public space.
