Online maps appeared along with the popularization of Internet. As tools of spatial cognition, online maps are prior to paper maps and electric maps especially in route querying, position searching and navigation. The paper summarizes the characteristics of online maps and styles that the users employ when they use them. And it analyses the course of spatial cognition of users and the phases of information obtaining. At last it concludes the rifles of spatial cognition of online maps based on these analyses.
