In this paper,102 strong ground motion acceleration records are used to calculate the average acceleration response spectra.According to the basic forms and characteristics of the average spectrum of strong motion records,the seismic design response spectra in long-period for flexible structures are established.In order to select representative strong ground motion records,the following factors are considered：1） seismic geological environment of Hankou and site soil condition;2） the reliability of strong ground motion records in long-period phase;3） influence to long-period response spectra of potential earthquakes with different magnitudes.
