Hyperuricemia (HUA) and gout have become the most prevalent diseases and comorbidities worldwide, and have increased the medical burden of countries worldwide. Concurrently, HUA is also an independent risk factor of many chronic diseases. However, in China, HUA and gout are currently managed only in tertiary hospitals, and the risks of HUA are often neglected by doctors and patients. Because of inadequate HUA and gout preventive measures in China, the low gout control rate, and underdeveloped community management systems, establishing a comprehensive and effect HUA and gout community management model is imperative. To provide valuable references and recommendations for establishing community HUA and gout regulatory management, this study adopts the perspective of a general practitioner, refers to China's experience in community management of other chronic diseases, integrates global HUA and gout community management experiences, and summarizes the predominant difficulties associated with HUA and gout management in China.
