The analysis of complex matrices is a very important area of separation science at present,the high peak capacity and the strong ability of separation and resolving power make two-dimensional chromatography a great advantage in the analysis of complicated compounds,and numerous combinations have been proposed and developed. Summarized the principle and other related contents of three different kinds of two-dimensional chromatography including two-dimensional gas chromatography,two-dimensional liquid chromatography and two-dimensional liquid chromatography gas chromatography,introduced each kind of two-dimensional chromatography according to classification,and summarized the application of two-dimensional chromatography in tobacco industry,finally the development trends of two- dimensional chromatography and its application in tobacco industry were prospected.
