We demonstrate a compact electro-optic switch with high extinction ratio in periodically poled lithium niobate(PPLN).During the experiment,a PPLN crystal,with the period of 21 μm,is placed between crossed polarizer.By tuning the applied electric field along the Y-axis of the PPLN,the light intensity of the operating wavelength shifts with 43 dB extinction ratio,which can serve as a high speed electro-optic switch.
