National parks have proved to a successful model that keeps balance between protection and development of public tourism resources.This paper,aiming to be of use to China’s public tourism resources management,after reviewing the development process and management styles of the United States’ national park system,and making a comparison between U.S.national park system and China’s tourist attractions,comes to the conclusion that China should make good use of the successful practices of the U.S.national park system,improve management,make corresponding laws and policies,give consideration to both tourism development and community involvement.
