Through analyzing the Global Monitoring Reports of Education for All （EFA） from the years 2002 through 2012 issued by UNESCO, the article reviews the development of education equi- ty as interpreted by that organization and reveals that the core goal of UNESCO＇ s EFA ig to enhance education equity. At the same time, various problems and difficulties faced by international society in the course of development of education equity are discussed, so that lessons can be drawn for the improvement the status of education equity in China.
