In 1967,Fleickenstein,a German scholar,first put forward the concept of calcium channel blockers.Calcium channel blockers affect cellular function by selectively preventing the pass of calcium ions through membrane voltage dependent calcium channels and decreasing intracellular calcium ions concentration.This review will introduce the basis of clinical application of calcium channel blockers in cardio-renal diseases.
