The binding mechanism of bovine serum albumin (BSA) with cephalosporin analogues including cefradine,cefuroxime and cefotaxime was investigated adopting fluorescence and absorption spectra. It was shown that the intrinsic fluorescence of BSA was quenched by the drugs through the static quenching and nonradiative engergy transferring procedure. The binding parameters including the association constant and the number of binding potential point were calculated at different temperatures, and thermodynamic parameters △H,△S and △G were given. The binding mode of BSA with cephalosporin showed that the hydrophobic interaction might play a major role.
