Organic experimental training of undergraduates has become one of the important components of teaching system in the enhancement of their innovation and research abilities. The synthesis of a well- known photochromic material- naphthacenequinone（ PNQN） was taken as a training example for college students, including the synthesis,characterization and properties studies. The results indicated that this training was enable to stimulate students＇ learning interests,inspire their ability of analyzing and solving problems,and improve the students＇ creative and practical ability.
