The mercury exchange fluxes on the air-sediment interface in the intertidal of Northeast Jiaozhou Bay were measured with the dynamic flux chamber method and cold vapor atomic fluorescence (CVAFS). The results showed that concentrations of mercury in the air were elevated over the global background values (1. 5 - 2. 0 ng· m^-3). Sediment mercury levels were elevated over the primary standard of the Sediment Quality. The maximum value of the mercury flux both appeared at afternoon, which was 2.47 ng/(m^2· h) appeared at about 14.30 on October, while was 2.75 ng/(m^2· h) appeared at 14.57 on November. The results also illustrated that Hg fluxes were significantly correlated with solar radiations, sediment temperatures and free air temperatures, while were inversed with the air relative humidity. The solar radiation had directly affected with the produce of Hg^0 and it also affected the temperatures to influence to the reaction rates and exchange rates of Hg^2+.
