Sediment carrying capacity of surface runoff is a fundamental parameter in studying erosion evolution and predicting sediment yield and it is also very important to control erosion. This paper brings forward some urgent problems in studying sediment carrying capacity of surface runoff through analyzing and summarizing some international research findings of sediment carrying capacity.
