2-Aminoimidazole sulfate（ 2） was prepared by condensation and cyclization using aminoacetaldehyde dimethyl acetal and S-methylisothiourea hemisulfate salt as the starting materials. 2-（ 2-Nitro-1H-imidazol） ethanol（ 4） was prepared by substitution of 2-bromoethanol with 2-nitroimidazole,which was obtained by diazotization-sandmeyer of 2. A novel compound,ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid-α,ω-bis[2-（ 2-nitro-1H-imidazol-1-yl） ]ethanol diester,was synthesized by esterification of 4with ethylenediaminetetraacetic dianhydride under microwave irradiation. The structure was characterized by1 H NMR,FT-IR,HR-MS and elemental analysis.
