According to the problem that the composition of Penthorum Chinense Pursh prescription（PCPP）is unclear,an ultra performance liquid chromatography coupled with quadrupole-time-of-flight massspectrometry（UPLC-Q-TOF-MS）and a HPLC method were carried out for identifying and analyzing the potential hepatoprotective compositions in a traditional Chinese medicine PCPP.the five effective ingredients of gallic acid,geniposide,polydatin,quercetin and emodin were identified and the quantitative analyses of the five chemical compositions were carried out by HPLC.The study of hepatoprotective constituents of PCPP will provide a scientific basis of quality control and further development.
