Over the past years ,the development of application - oriented talents in international trade education has experienced multiple problems, mainly to be found in the difficulties of finding internships off campus and the limitations of the simulative training by teaching software on campus. Viewing the development of application - oriented talents in international trade educa- tion from the perspective of building effective university - company partnership, universities and companies ought to work together in course designing, textbook writing and teaching plan drafting. In addition, universities and companies ought to work togeth- er to increase teachers＇ professional competence by enabling them to study in training or diploma courses and work temporarily in foreign trading companies. Companies are encouraged to establish international marketing sectors in schools. In particular, with the development of cross - border e - commerce in recent years, the cross - border e - commerce platforms should be leveraged to develop innovative and application- oriented professional talents.
