Ocean tidal current energy is a clean, renewable energy, the development of which is of important significance for alleviating the energy crisis. The tidal current generator set control system is becoming one of the key technologies of tidal current power generation. The basic composition of the tidal current generator control system as well as the detection and control technology applied to the system are described. A detailed treatment is made of the principles of battery charge and discharge control, load control and automatic variable pitch control in the tidal current generator set control system in terms of hardware design and software program. Test results show that the control system developed is capable of ensuring the reliability, security and stability of tidal current generation system operation.
