The fossils of Baiera leaves are diverse and widespread in the Mesozoic, especially in the Late Triassic-Early Cretaceous flora in the Northern Hemisphere, Based upon compression specimens of Baiera col- lected from Damoguaihe Formation of Lower Cretaceous in the studied area, and their leaf morphology and wellpreserved cuticular characters, a new species is found for the first time and named as Baiera bifurcata sp. nov. The discovery of this new species in the Early Cretaceous significantly extends the stratigraphic and geographic distribution of Baiera, and is important for the reconstruction of Cretaceous environments.
