Echl is the key enzyme of fatty acid ]3-oxidation metabolism, and mainly locates in peroxisome and mitochondria. Recent studies indicate that abnormal expression of Echl is related with liver carcinoma, stomach carcinoma and chronic lymphoid leukemia, but the mechanism is not very clear. Other members of Echfamily are also closely related to many diseases.
