According to the researches in recent years, the forming and the damage of the marine fouling, the history of the antifouling, and the application of four kinds of representative nontoxic antifouling paints are reviewed. Finally, a promise about the advance of the nontoxic antifouling paints is put forward. The trends in the advance of the nontoxic antifouling paints are proposed.
