In order to study the farmers land consciousness to protect cultivated land, we developed a scale for measuring of farmer＇ s land consciousness from the five dimensions of farmer＇ s land consciousness, and built a cultivated land protection behavior model, and verified it by using the structural equation model. The results show that the path coefficients of consciousnesses of land rely on, land security, land management and to become rich, thinking land as burden, and land property rights to the cultivated land protection, cultivated land quality protection, externality protection of cultivated land were 0.85, 0.77, 0.81, 0.37, 0.53, 0.53, 0.37, 0.82, 0.63, 0.63, 0.71, 0.69, 0.65, 0. 68, 0. 73 ; it shows that behaviors of the farmers relying on land or wishing be rich by land were more advantageous to protect arable land. Therefore, we should coordinate the farmer＇s land consciousness and cultivated land protection behavior to promote the rational utilization of cultivated land.
