A novel Eu(Ⅲ) complex(1) was synthesized by reaction of trans-4-[p-(N,N-diethylamine)styryl]-N-methylpyridinium iodide with europium(Ⅲ)-thenoyltrifluoroacetonato moiety.The structure was characterized by 1H NMR and X-ray single-crystal diffraction.1 belongs to monoclinic system,space group P21/c with a=10.543(5) ,b=22.653(5) ,c=26.053(5) ,β=113.272(5)°,V=5716.0(3) 3,Dc=1.515 g·cm-3,Z=4,F(000)=260 8,μ=1.333 mm-1.The final R1 indice was 0.066 9.
