A novel Eu（Ⅲ） complex（1） was synthesized by reaction of trans-4-[p-（N,N-diethylamine）styryl]-N-methylpyridinium iodide with europium（Ⅲ）-thenoyltrifluoroacetonato moiety.The structure was characterized by 1H NMR and X-ray single-crystal diffraction.1 belongs to monoclinic system,space group P21/c with a=10.543（5） ,b=22.653（5） ,c=26.053（5） ,β=113.272（5）°,V=5716.0（3） 3,Dc=1.515 g·cm-3,Z=4,F（000）=260 8,μ=1.333 mm-1.The final R1 indice was 0.066 9.
