This paper uses Lacan mirror stage theory to analyze the process of La Tache~ self - identity in Al- ice Walker Possessing the Secret of Joy, and makes a careful study of the process of La Tache self - consciousness revival from a new perspective, which reveals the cultural connotation of black literature and the signifi- cance of cultural archetype of characters in the context of postmodern culture.
