慎独工夫是儒家君子之学的基石。民国时期,唐文治先生在其著作《大学大义》《中庸大义》及《性理救世书》中对儒家“慎独”工夫有系统的诠释。此类诠释有着极其明确的现实指向,即意在发明传统慎独学术以挽救今日世界。在唐文治的慎独诠释中,重点援引了晚明以来阳明学一系心学家的思想资源,尤其是刘宗周对慎独的解释。这一思路使得唐氏从清代乾嘉学术视野中超拔而出,以晚明阳明精细的心学视野探讨性理学之重建议题。从晚明以来的思想史视野出发,审视唐文治“慎独”诠释,是深入挖掘其思想价值与政教意义的重要途径。
Shen Du (vigilance in solitude) is an indispensable method of Confucian self - cultivation system. In the early twenti-eth century, Tang Wenzhi proposed a new interpretation of the theory of Shen Du, which is a modern version of Neo - Confucian-ism. What is remarkable about Tang’s theory is the unique ideological system of “curing the world and living a better life”. It is an important way to dig out Tang’s thought value from the view of Yangming School.
