Research on the socio-technical system transitions has increased rapidly in recent years, and formed some theoretical frame-works such as multi-level model and transition management.The studies about multi-level model indicated that the socio-technical system transition is the result of the interaction of landscape, socio-technical regime and niche.The socio-technical system transitions are regar-ded as a continuous and gradual process in the transition management theory, and transition management includes strategic manage-ment, tactical management and operational management.As a typical socio-technical system, energy system is one of the key areas in socio-technical system transition research.China can learn a lot from the research and practice of other countries in the socio-technical system transitions.
