Natural features of four sub-districts of forest site zoning in Three Gorges Reservoir Area were analyzed by collecting the data of natural elements. The primary forest sites were classified in terms of elevation, topography, slope aspect, soil and so on, in accordance with the principles of classification of primary sites. The site types in Three Gorges Reservoir Area were classified into 9 site type areas, 34 site type groups, and 96 site type cells.
