The molecular weight and distribution of dextran was detected directly by gel permeation chromatography （GPC） and differential refractive detector, which is modified with the theory of adjustability emendation. In this method the operation conditions were optimized and do not need to know the constant of Mark and α. So the GPC could be an effective measure to control the degree of starch hydrolysis reaction the value of K in time.
