A ion-pair compound,[TBA][Ni(dddt)2](1)(TBA = Tetra-N-butylammonium,dddt^2-= 5,6-dihydro-1,4-dithiin-2,3-dithiolate),has been synthesize and characterized.The X-ray single crystal studies reveals that 1 crystallizes in the monoclinic space group P21/c,and its asymmetric unit is composed of one [Ni(dddt)2]^-anion together with one [TBA]^+cation.The NiS4 core in the [Ni(dddt)2]^-anion exhibits a perfect planar geometry.There exist weak S…S interactions between the adjacent [Ni(dddt)2]^-anions.A three-dimensional molecular solid was formed in Compound 1 through the weak accumulation effect and the electrostatic interaction in the crystal of Compound 1.
