[ Objective] To investigate the different expressions of E -cadherin in high and low metastatic human ovary serous cystadenocarcinoma cells. [ Methods] The protein expressions of E- cadherin were detected by western blotting and immunocytochemistry. The mRNA expressions were detected by RT - PCR. The mutations of the gene were detected by PCR and gene sequencing. [ Results] The protein and mRNA of E - cadherin were detected in HO - 8910, but were not detected in HO - 8910PM. The mutations existing in exon 6 -9 of E -cadherin were not detected. [ Conclusion] The expression of E -cadherin may be negatively related to metastasis of the tumor.
