In modern and contemporary old-style travel poetry,interlinear notes draw much more attention than the poems they lie in,which discloses the conflicts between old style(classical poetry) and new material(modern extraterritorial traveling experience) in the process of cross-cultural writing.The phenomenon is both the characterization of the difference between old style and new material and a kind of adjustment made by old style to new material.The choosing of this kind of writing strategy shows the aphasia of old style when confronted with modern extraterritorial experience and indicates the inevitability of literary revolution.
